It can't be. There is no cannon on the texas flag. At least I never saw a cannon on the texas flag before. Oh, I know, maybe the cannon flag is the flag you get free with a ten gallon hat purchase??? Maybe it comes with a horse?

I dunno, maybe someone else can shed some light on this. I'll check back after I have another beer.

Et tu maverick? I've been looking forward to your Eco VPE results. I'll say it again, 10 gallon hats are for guys that need to compensate for some ... shall we say... shortcoming. I don't have one. Draw your own conclusions.

Can nobody google for "cannon flag" or "come and take it"? Briefly: it was the battle flag from Gonzales, the first battle of Texas Independence. Mexican army was scared of rebellion and planned to retrieve a cannon from a frontier fort. This flag was how the Texans responded to the news.

ND,

The alliance is now suffering mocking from Kansas. I don't think that is going to be acceptable, we may not be able to organize or have connons to take on Texas, but a few rocks should be able to take care of Kansas, and we should be able to throw them from our camp chairs without even putting down our beers. I say we make an example of Kansas.

Who's with me.

Agreed, Kansas should not be a problem at all. We'll take over Kansas while we try to find some cannons to take on Texas

They do have Tacomas -- some probably with tow packages. I'm not scared, but it's never wise to underestimate your opponents -- well, unless they're drunk. So, nevermind this message. Back to your regularly scheduled... well whatever was going on.

At risk of giving comfort to the enemy, may I suggest Ft. Sumpter?

Oh, but, they're full of concrete. Nevermind me.

rhoppas, there's cattle trails straight from here to Kansas (who's making fun of the cattle now?). In my Taco I can be there in a jiffy, that is, if you really need backup to handle these guys. Under the cover of darkness we may be able to find their beer stash.

On second thought, we shouldn't raid the beer stash. Then they might sober up and make good on their threats.

Taking our beer would be a serious mistake, we would go insane with rage. Besides, good luck taking it, when/if we make our move on texas, we will probably have more people staying behind to guard the coolers than we will trying to take over texas.

BTW, someone needs to go England and check out Ft. Sumpter (i'm pretty sure its in England) and see if we cant get a hold of us some canons. i have a tow pkg so i can probably grab a couple. I refuse to be outdone by a couple backwards ranchers in the middle of the Sahara desert, i'm pretty sure thats in Texas..... you know what, we may need to get a globe or a map before we go after Texas....

Let me help

Did I misspell Sumpter? Ya know, in Charleston harbor? In your back yard? Where the "war of northern aggression" began? (to those of you not from the Carolinas: aka the Civil War)

I think it would be best if we not mess with their beer stash. Best to keep them staggering. They probably cannot even find Texas in their condition, let alone finding Kansas.

Why does that map of Texas not surprise me, coming from a Texan.

BTW, what happened Saturday between Kansas State and #7 Texas (oh wait that is #19 Texas)?

Where's your grandmother from? I've never heard that term seriously used outside the Carolinas.

Well, in all honesty, that map does come from postcard. It's mostly what tourists think Texans think of Texas.

I dunno. I don't have any particular fondness of UT, so doesn't bother me personally.

I originally come from Virginia, and we use the term there as well.

Sawdust: Ok i have to admit, the map was funny. I actually laughed out lout when i saw it. I especially like "Yankee land" and "Uninhabitable". But dont think you've softened me up any! I still fully intend on taking you over! I'll just have to figure out which state Charleston is in, grab some cannons and print off the map you posted and come on down. That was a big mistake posting that map, you just helped out the enemy. BAM!!!
