Hey guys, I just signed up. I picked up my (new to me) Tacoma last week. It was wadded up pretty good. I've got it at the Chiropractor right now getting an adjustment. New 04 Front clip is on the way. I'm running full speed reading learing and chasing parts.

    Thanks,
    Michael

    Welcome!

If you get a moment, I'd love to see what it looked like before and after...assuming it's all done.

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

here are a few pics, (sorry for the size).

It is still at the chiropractors gettting adjusted. I'm getting the frame / front sub structure straight and the cab realigned on the frame. I'll try to take care of the rest. I've got my 04 Sheetmetal, Grille, and bumper on reserve (awaiting pick up / waiting on the core support).

It only has 105k and has been off of the road since 11-07.

Guy I bought it from had given it to his son (new driver). His son let a friend drive it around while they were 4-wheeling at the hunt club. Friend hit a ditch wadding up the lower left fornt, then spun around and caught the passenger bed side. He hit the windshield hard and needed medical attention. No seat belt / bad for him / but may have kept the air bags from deploying. To me: It looks like a good bit of speed was involved (cab struck bed) and I have yet to find any mud anywhere under the truck. Most likely he was hitting water puddles at speed and lost control.

It was an ugly situation, where the owner (father) ate the cost of damages. He figured not worth it to persue insurance or the driver.
Luckly the driver was the only one in the truck at the time.

Afterwards someone attacked the truck with a sawz all. So I've got a few unnecessary cuts to repair, But the price was right so I can't complain.

Holy crap! I was wondering what that smash in the windshield was...it was his fault for a) not waring a seat belt and b) being an idiot. I'm not gonna lie, I hit puddles in my car to get a nice splash but nothing above 15MPH or so, just to keep the imminent threat level down. Although we were getting about an inch of rain and this SUV (land cruiser) was riding the dots on the freeway doing about 70 in a torrential downpour and launched so much water on my windshield. It was cool at the moment but extremely dangerous and pissed me off when they guy didn't get back into his lane and kept pelting me with 4 foot tall waves from these puddles....jackass

Spent the last year screwing around chasing parts and working to straighten a totaled frame. Finally found a deal on a Frame / Bed / 5" Tuff Country lift. ~ I'm building a DD around town dual sport wheelr kind of truck (Boo Hiss)... I know ~ I know.... Maybe things will change later, But I need a clean get around ride for now... Anyway back to the Tacoma build

Got the Tacoma to shake it like a pole dancer ~ Yea babay take it off :saw:

Replacement frame is cleaned / painted and at a friends farm / shop where I have some room to work. My City is not very understanding of the GREEN principal of recycling entire vehicles.
