So I have been reading over countless threads for the past few weeks in preparation of becoming a 1st time Tacoma owner. Well folks, the day has finally come! I am a proud owner of a 2000 SR5 4x4 Tacoma!

I have wanted a Tacoma since I was in HS and we would get rides in a friends older brothers Tacoma. Anyway, I know everyone wants to see pics. Let me say that this truck will look much better when I get done buffing her. When I detail her I will take real pictures.

Just a little history on the truck:
1 Owner (who I have know for a while)
    126k original miles
    3.4V6
    bone stock
all maintenance records since day one
    purchase price $7500

    Plans:
I really have know idea what this truck will become. After looking through many builds and browsing aftermarket sites I have some ideas but until they become reality, I'll just go with this thread title...I Have a Dream!

That truck looks to be in great shape. Nice when you can buy it from a trusted source like you have.

Good luck and have fun with it.

    Thanks for the greetings everyone.

I was curious about the price. I felt I paid a fare price but then I see some Tacoma's sell for a few thousand more with more miles and maybe only a year newer. KBB said it was $7150 in excellent. I'm very happy with my purchase though!

    - the headlights (not pictured here)

    - added thule roof rack
    - driven her 2300mi ( I work away from home )

It's been a great truck and I am excited to see where she takes me!

I used a "gutter style" Thule system. It's not really made for how I used it but that is what the previous owner had. He had the brackets mounted on the roof, which I did not like. I seals the old holes on the roof and redrilled new ones on the side. It gave me more room on the crossbars for kayak and bike rack.

So recently I replaced the rusted out original bumper with a shiny new one. Also, the old Leonard hitch was pretty worn out and rusting away as well. So, I now have a shiny new Curt 2" hitch and a replacement OE style bumper.

I also got an upgrade on my tires and went with 31x1050x15 Cooper Discover AT3s. I like the way they look and they ride good and with no excessive road noise.

I will post a few pics in a minute. Watching my little guy today.

There comes a time when a 2 door is just not enough...I'm in the process of purchasing a 2007 DCLB TRD sport. Once again I found a great Tacoma. The "new" one is also a one owner with only 61k miles and freakin clean! Pics to come soon.
