I'm new to Tacoma. I just purchased a 2009 pre runner. Nice truck and I hope to get long service. I purchased my first (used) toyota Publica SW in 1969. Two cylinder. air cooled,4speed on the tree. I drove the car in No Japan where gas was expensive and this car was great. Since then I've had several toyota's the last being a 2001 seinna eith 170k miles. I'm looking for R&R instructions to change wipers to intermittent. Thanks

Welcome. You'll be amazed at how simple the wiper switch swap is and you'll LOVE it!

The switch snaps in and has to be released to remove. Just be nice and calm. 15 minutes.

I don't have the intermittent wipers now. Can I convert? Where can I find instructions?

I found mine on E-bay. As with all genuine Toyota parts they aren't cheap. However installation is easy, "plug and play". The original took a firm pull, but the new one easily snapped into place. Good luck!

Easy to install. Turn the steering wheel so the cross bar is vertical. You will see two screws behind the wheel. Remove the screws and the column cov3r can be removed. The wiper switch pulls straight out. Use caution as all parts are plastic. Gentle but firm pressure works best. Snap new switch in place, replace cover and your good to go.

HI, I read your post about changing wiper stalks to install intermittent option. I have a base model 2002 Tacoma. Will this work for my truck ? Just change out the stalks and nothing else?

I went on ebay motors and purchased an intermittent wiper stalk (I have a 2009 prerunner base model). To change out the switches (stalks) I turned the steering wheel until the cross bars were vertical. Looking at the column behind the wheel, there is a screw on the flat piece directly in front of you. Remove screw. Turn the wheel 180 degrees and you will see another screw. Remove. Now the two halves of the column cover can be removed, exposing both stalks (lights and wipers). To remove the wiper stalk uou must pull out on the stalk. Mine gave me a bit of a tough time, but with gentle pressure and some prying with a plastic tool I got it out. The new switch just "clicked" into place. "Good to go". Reverse process to replace column cover. Good Luck
