    Backstory:
Recently sold my 94 Toyota xtracab 2wd truck in favor or buying a good friends 01 tacoma xtracab 4wd, for.... $750! Anyway, bad news was the 2.7 stock motor had over 200k and burnt valves. We bought a motor with 110k from a salvage yard and installed in less than two days under a carport, in winter, on osb because our driveway is gravel and motor lifts don't roll on gravel ;)

So after installing the motor, new starter, radiator, belts and hoses, we prayed and started the truck up. Ran perfectly! So now at 118k on the used motor I enter TW to join ranks and search for mods.

    Currently upgrades include
    Shocks: Bilsteins front and rear
    Front lift: Bilstein 5125/stock springs
    Rear lift: Dakota lift springs
    Wheel spacers: Spidertrax
    Tires: 285/75/16 Duratracs
Extras: 2" receiver, CB, Custom warn m8000 mount, Bed storage
    ...and more to come!

Finally mounted my Allpro Rock Sliders! I cut down the overall length of the mounting bar because for my taste they stuck out way too far! It also helped that when I go them two of the four mounting plates had already been hacked off.

To make sure I had my welding abilities up to par, I also built a headache rack with some scrap metal tubing I had laying around. Had to purchase a little more steel to build the receiver portion of my rack.

Installed some 1.25" spydertrax spacers a buddy gave me. Realized my leaves were beyond help and ordered some OME Dakars the next day.

Its a ghetto way of extending the grace period between when you have to buy new springs and when you first realize you have axle wrap. There are a couple write-ups on here about it, after this result I would not recommend it!

To anyone reading my thread, I want some input on the Spacer install. Never was a fan of them, preferring instead wheels with less backspacing, but as these were free I had to try them. Not overly enthusiastic about the squat and now almost stock look it gives the truck, but it does corner without as much body roll!

After months I can finally say my CB works, buckled down and completed the antenna mount. Was trying to mimic the CBI design, kinda wishing I had paid them and could add another sticker to my growing collection. If it weren't those darn unhappy leaf packs I would be mounting a new 2-3' fire stick instead of this whip.

Just a simple cobra 19 I kept when I sold my wrangler, pretty used and abused but still working well! 139ADA35-BA2C-4C4A-A240-1EFD8697F271_zps_3b2ea488c3ad0b28698dd00c9aaecd23acfb3822.jpg
Noticed you're running the dakars and you seem pretty happy with them? Did you installed any added bump stops? Couldn't tells is you upsize tires above the 265/75/16's? My dad has that same red, but he was the prerunner absolutely love that color...trade?

No worries! The dakars are so nice! I was telling a buddy this morning, when I hit bumps now the front end goes "clunk, clunk" and the dakars are all "bump? what bump?!" No bump stops that's what I wanted to hear! Eventually I'll be getting some 255/85/16's, but not for a while!
