    Hi All
In a rescent visit to get oil changed they recommended changing both the trans and diff oil. Is this a good thing? My 2009 tocoma std cab has 76000 on it.

You should change both every 50-60K if I had a say in the matter.

It isn't that expensive, for me the two are the same gear oil (manual 2.7) and the cost for just the fluid is about $60-70.

If you go through more than two or three feet of standing water you should probably change it ASAP to make sure you don't seize the rear end if the check valve didn't work right. Otherwise, once every few years.

when you say flush, what does that entail? Or is it a drain and refill process?

drain and fill is fine for normal use and replacement...flush would be for removing goop, contaminents, other forfeign stuff and getting just pure fluid in place.
