    My name is Mitch, I'm 20 years old, never used a forum before in my life. If I had any questions I asked my father. Hes been a Toyota mechanic since '91, hes got pretty much every answer to any question I could ask. I recently bought a 2009 Tacoma 2.7 liter 5speed. Before that I've owned a 2003 Corolla, 2000 Celica(rebuilt two transmissions for it), 1995 Tercedes and a 1999 Tercedes. It's safe to say if I ever buy anything that's not a Toyota I would be disbanded from my family LOL.

    I'm still trying to figure my way around this thing and I was curious;

    -What's the biggest tire I can put on my Tacoma? I have 245/75R16's on it now and I have been looking at 265/75R16's. Would they work? Do you think they would make the truck a lot more guttless? And what's a decent onroad/offroad tire?

    - Has anyone heard/read about diesel swaps? not for any time soon, just something to dream about. And I do have a very experienced Toyota tech at my disposal(hes not really into the whole modifying thing but hes got a weird obsession with diesels, so I might luck out and get his help), and I've been working on cars since I could hold a wrench, so difficulty isn't really a concern.

    I know you're not supposed to ask questions here, but I didn't know where else to ask! Sorry for being so "forum-challenged" and thanks in advance for the help!!

    285s (70/R17 I think) fit on my Tacoma, rubbed a little at lock and with a bump... I did the cab mount chop, helped a ton. That's about as big as you want to go or so I've read.

    BFG All Terrains never did me wrong.

    265/75/16 are the biggest you can run without any rubbing
