I first came across this forum early 2013 while I was looking up my uncle’s 07 DCSB TRD Sport having some issues while going downhill. After some searching I found that the Tacoma has a downhill assist and that it was completely normal and intended. I looked through the custom builds and features of the truck and drove my uncle’s truck and instantly fell in love. In April 2013, I decided I wanted to invest in a nimble mid size truck and headed to Puente Hills Toyota in SoCal. I was discouraged to find my trade in, 05 Chrysler with 47k miles, was only getting $500… I headed to Nissan and they offered $4000…I decided to sleep on it, and boy am I glad I did!

On April 19th I drove into Toyota and once again drove home without my Taco…They only had the short bed in the configuration I wanted, so I had to wait a day to have it moved from Huntington Beach to Puente Hills. April 21st I went to pick up the Taco.

My name is David. I hunt & fish.

This truck is great, but I felt like it was missing a few minor things here and there.

The first thing I did was to install a tailgate anti theft device. AKA hose clamp

Second, I noticed it was lacking in low end, so I installed an amplifier & a pair of low profile subwoofers.

While I was running the power cable, I noticed the truck didn’t have a light in the engine bay, so I installed some LED lights.

I was at a swap meet and found a new in box WARN winch for $50. It’s only 2500lbs but it was a deal, so I thought I would find something to do with it. I mounted it to a tow hitch receiver plate, ran 0 gauge to the back of the truck, and set up a pair of power distribution blocks in the storage compartment.

Since I had a source of power in the back, I threw some LED lights into the bed.

I am currently in the process of putting in some strobes for traffic control setup when I have to work on city medians, which I mounted on the headrests of the back seat.

My immediate plans are to add a CB, lift, add some power steps, and do something about the bumpers.

I'de like to thank all the people who are part of the Tacoma World forums for anything and everything I have learned whilst lurking in the past year and look forward to positively contributing in the future.
