Hello all, my name is Austin, and i just purchased a 2010 tacoma, I have had Acuras in the past (currently own 2 Acura Legends and a Mazda 3 for the wife) I got tired of trying to fit large items like furniture and band gear in our cars, so i gave in and got a truck. I've put about 150 miles on it so far and I am very impressed with the quality of the truck.

So some things for me to keep for me to keep in mind, what are some common issues/quirks tacomas are known (if any) to have? every car i've owned it was always some little thing. Also, any common, easy modifications to do to make it nicer, more fun? My headlights are a tad foggy, so I'm thinking of installing projector headlights.

Anywho, ill be lurking around the forum, and gather what info i can. Thanks!

and here is the obligatory photo of the truck the night i bought it.

Debadge it. You've got the worst possible configuration for chrome bling letters on the tailgate.

    SR5!
    PreRunner!!

Pull all that junk off and your truck will look cleaner.

Search TW for "debadge" and get exact instructions.

oh i'm familiar with the car modding scene. did an engine and manual swap on one of my cars a few years back. this truck will more than likely stay stock, minus practical changes, like better lighting and what not.

so far ive noticed a weird buzz from the driver door, i thought it was the stereo, but turning it off, unpairing my phone via bluetooth have not gotten rid of said weird buzz, ill have to dig in on this one

ive polished headlights in the past and in my experience they just get foggy again, just faster. plus, i like projector systems, and HID lighting, so now owning a car where i dont have to build a projector headlight from several different car headlight/fog light systems, ill probably just bite the bullet and buy headlights.

already took the dealer sticker off, i hate free advertising, as for the other badges, they arent bugging me yet, ill see how time goes and makes me change my mind or not. but it is definitely on the back burner, per say

I've got that one thing, and that other one thing, oh yeah and that other other one thing.
You say that now....then rolls in a lift, then bigger tires and a frame chop, and then next thing you know you've got long travel :D
