hello everyone. I am having an issue with a brake fluid leak. its on the driver side rear. The leak is actually above the axle. I am pretty mechanically inclined but dont know all the names of the pieces. In this pic, the leak seems to be coming from the cylindrical shaped piece in the middle of the photo, covered in rubber. Can someone tell me what this is? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance

My best guess is that it's part of the Load Sensing Proportional Valve (LSPV), I don't know much about them, perhaps it's a small reservoir.

good call. thats what it looks like once I googled some images of the LSPV. Is this something I can remove, clean and put back or will I have to change it out? Any advise on the removal, buying of parts or reassembly of this project would be great

Sorry, I have a '13 and the LSPV has been eliminated and I think its function has been replaced by the EBD (as a subsystem of the ABS system), so I have no experience working on it. Good luck though.
Hint: try posting under the 1st gen. forum instead of the new members forum, you might get more responses.
    Cheers.
