Just Ordered a 2015 Manual Transmission TRD OFF Road

It should arrive by January 2015. I chose manual transmission. Hope didn't make a mistake. It has the TRD off-road package. Can't wait to get it.

 

Cool. Kind of a long wait, Dealer couldn't score one somewhere close with what you wanted? If it was me, I'd have so much crap bought for it before it arrived. ...

Am I making the correct choice of choosing a manual over an automatic?

 

You live in LA and want a manual tranny? Isn't that going to be hell on your legs in traffic?

 

I've got a manual and love it - of course I live in Northern BC so traffic isn't really an issue here. The manual tranny is fun offroad.

 

Its funny that dealers don't have the manual Tacoma in stock these days. I wanted a manual but ended up getting an auto because I didn't want to wait.

I'm not really what you would call, mechanically knowledgeable on many things so I cannot comment one way or the other but, if I even thought I would have the need for a manual shift, why would it be different from manually shifting gears with your automatic trans? Is there a difference in the gearing that would make one " better "? p.s., I learned to drive with a manual shift so I do know how.

 

Love my manual Tacoma! I had a 08 with the auto and for me it's just to boring and uninspiring!! I think you will love the 6sp man tranny! When I bought my Baja last week the truck manager said once he gets a man Tacoma on the lot it sells very quickly!!

If you are into offroading stuff then yes manual will help you with better traction control on dead edges !!!!!!!!!!!!!
