I purchased a Tacoma Access Cab 4x4 with a V6, 6-speed manual, and 4X$ aweek ago. It has the towing package and is badged SR5. It also has aluminumwheels, and the color I ended up with is MGM.

I am currently looking to get a set of winter wheels and tires as I live inWisconsin, but do not plan to make many modifications to this truck. I may adda cap for more storage, but am not in a hurry.

This is my first truck as well as my first Tacoma so I am still getting usedto it. My other car is a Mazdaspeed3 soI am used to smaller FWD vehicles.

My main use for this truck is for towing an enclosed trailer that I expectto weigh around 5,000 lb when loaded, so I will be adding a brake controller inthe near future. I hope the truck will perform well under towing, as my configurationis rated at 6,500 lb.

One of my main reasons for choosing the Tacoma was the availability of themanual transmission. I have gotten so used to having one that driving anautomatic irritates me. The only other option I saw in a midsize truck with amanual was a Frontier, but I could not locate one within 200 miles. The Tacomagave me a choice of 4 within 100 miles.

I hope to be a beneficial member of this community, and hopefully will get some pictures if the weather cooperates.

I am a bit concerned with the number of bad reviews I have read on the manual transmission, but I have had good luck with them in my other cars and am not one to slam gears. So far it has been consistent and I have not missed a gear. My only complaint is that first gear is really short, although that may prove to be an asset when towing.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Not slamming gears is a good idea.
