Hey all, first, I'm thrilled to know there's a Tacoma community. I don't own a Tacoma but I drove one for work for about two years and I'm in love.

I would like to buy a Tacoma but I have no idea where to begin. I hesitate on buying high-mileage vehicles but I know tacomas run forever. I'm looking to spend around 5k on a Tacoma and I want something 4X4 with a seat in the back (for storage and my dog. Don't need a crew cab).

What can I expect to get for around 5k? What models, mileages, conditions, years, etc can I expect to find in that price range? .

Thanks for the help. I'm new to tacomas but I know they're great trucks :)

I think you will be hard pressed to find something with "low miles" for 5K. I looked for months and months here in Colorado and anything with less than 200 K was still holding it value. I finally got a 03 TRD with 120K on it and paid 10K. Good luck.
