Hello from the Crystal Coast of NC

Hello all! After wanting a Tacoma for a long time, I finally bought my first last summer after returning from Okinawa. I have a black 2014 DCSB TRD Baja and I love it. I was originally going to buy a TRD OR, but I saw the Baja on the lot and got a great deal. It is currently stock, but I have several plans for slightly modifying the truck (likely in gradual stages).

Anyway, I am pretty excited to learn more about the Tacoma after being a Jeep guy for many years (still am, just broadening my horizons ). I have been lurking for a few months on here and finally decided I need to join. From what I have seen this is a great forum, and I really appreciate the efforts of both the mods and all those that contribute.

Welcome Marine! I spent two summers in Okinawa in the 90's. Loved every minute.

 

Thanks to both of you. SocalTaco15, I spent 5 years over there and would have stayed longer...loved it as well. It is good to be back in the land of the "big PX" though. I tried to get my hands on a Hilux over there, but they were super expensive and very hard to come by. I was able to snag a 1991 FJ80 though.

 

Our ride in Okinawa was a rusty 1980 Toyota Van. The one with the engine under the drivers seat. We drove all over the island looking for surf. Good times.
