Hello all... Just joined today, Ive owned my 02 taco for 6 months now. I love it most of the time when it doesn't have issues.

When I bought the truck it had 31,900 miles. Now it has 41,000 on it. My problems include: funny engine noise/whine while idleing, hard to shift into second gear sometimes, transmission whine while driving in any gear(not downshifting). Just to name a few annoyances...

Have you had the tranny checked out? Mine is an automatic, got none of those problems with 116,500 miles.

Here's the problem... I don't have a warranty. I bought the truck used and the dealer only gave me one month/1,000 mile warranty with it. And I didn't want to pay their price for a warranty that didn't cover crap...

Welcome to TW, when you bought the truck, did it have the mods already or did you do them ?

No, when I bought the truck it only had the side steps. I did all the mods. The tranny troubles were there when I bought it. I'm getting ready to change the tranny and transfer case to Redline MT90 synthetic fluid. I hope it helps.
