Contemplating new 2009 Tacoma

Hi all,

my name is J, I have not bought a tacoma "yet", but I am looking into one. Hopefully somebody here can answer some questions I have about it. Well my first question.

1. Has anybody used the Yakima FATCAT 6 on the OEM toyota tacoma Rack Bars for Snowboads, Ski, or Bike attachments. I am mainly using it for snowboarding, but wanted to know if i can use the FATCAT 6 on the oem bars and still get clearance for 4 boards back to back.

2. Long bed or Short bed. I really hate parking a big car, but i do want a truck. Do long bed owners out there really find the long bed useful. Do the short bed owners out there find any drawbacks to having the short bed?

I have the shortbed double cab & I love it!

 

I have no experience with that rack system. I have a long bed and love it, but i do a fair amount of camping. Welcome to TW.
