Hi From TN

Hello all! It's good to be driving a Toy again. After recently, and somewhat reluctantly, selling my 04 Nissan Titan crew cab 4x4, I am now the proud owner of a gorgeous 08 Speedway Blue PreRunner TRD Sport double cab. Man, I love the look of the hood scoop from behind the steering wheel!

It's impressive to see the evolution of this truck from the 80's, when I owned a 1986 SR5 Extra cab 4x4 w/ 4cyl, and then a 1989 SR5 Extra Cab 4x4 w/ 6cyl.

I'm off this morning in search of some nerf bars and a hood protector. Not into major accessorizing as I used to be, this should just about do it.

Thanks, Tacoma World, for being here!

Welcome mojo, I understand about giving up your old truck, we are pretty certain here that you will be happy with the new prerunner. Just because I am curious, why did you trade in 04 Titan ?

I absolutely LOVED that truck! It performed and held up incredibly well, plus it had gobs of neat features and a very roomy interior. Originally purchased to haul big bass boats to lakes with steep and/or crude ramps, I needed the 4x4 capability, and all the spare back seat room came in handy to stow gear for weekend tournaments. Also used it to run the beach at Padre Island, way past the 4wd-only marker, to go camping and surf fishing. Well, the next year found me moving from TX to TN. Big boat puller and 4x4 no longer needed, but I still desired a truck to haul a family of four with sufficient cargo space, hence the decision to go with the Tacoma. Overall, a wise decision indeed.

Gotta say that driving the new Taco feels like a mini-truck compared to the Titan, but the wife already loves it because the size does not intimidate her as the Titan did. With a few more miles of driving I'm sure I'll feel right at home in the new rig........ and the increased gas mileage will be much appreciated. This is where the Titan SUCKED, literally.

Thanks to all of you who have welcomed me so warmly to this site.
