    Hi,

Just found this site today. I have a 2003 Tacoma SR5 V6 5-speed Manual 4WD, which I bought new as a third vehicle, so miles are low at 17,500, as of Sept 2009.

Right after I bought my truck, I installed fog lamps, Linex bed spray, Truxedo bed cover, and a few bed holds. The truck is pretty much stock, and it just passed the inspection for the frame rust perforation (likely to be spray coated as soon as the local stealership calls). I do most of my own routine maintenance.

I plan to put Firestone Destination A/T tires on this month (appt on Sept 21). I've never liked the stock tires; they are terrible in rain and snow, even with 4WD.

My primary vehicle is a 2003 VW Jetta TDI diesel with a 5-speed manual. I've done a lot of work on my Jetta to enhance its HP and torque. If interested, just click the link.

    Welcome to TW!

I miss my 2001 Jetta GLS TDI and my 1998 Jetta GL TDI.
I miss having a diesel under the bonnet - period.

I spent a year living in Germany, and learned the advantages of diesels in terms of efficiency and longeviey. A year ago I contacted Tacoma about offering a diesel Tacoma in the U.S. Their lame response was that they are focusing on hybrid technology rather than diesel for the North American market. No way I want a hybrid pickup truck.

Agreed. I signed the online petition too. I am hoping that sometime in the next year I can save up enough money to get my friend Todd to drop a D4D engine into my Tacoma. *sigh* Just don't have that kind of money right now.

You should check his stuff out though. I have seen and photographed and driven a few of his swaps, and they are all clean and factory looking. They drive beautifully too! :D
