Hello all! I just bought my first Toyota, a 2006 Tacoma access cab, 4x4 SR5. I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I've always been a Chevy guy, but when it came time to buy another truck, I couldn't bring myself to buy another Colorado (even though they are pretty nice trucks).

So far I've only got 2 complaints. First is that these things are a dime a dozen! :p Guess I'm going to have to make a couple changes to mine to make it stand out a little more. Second is that the headlights on my truck are not automatic. The original MSRP on my truck was more that 30k, and no automatic headlights?

Anyway, here is my new Tacoma:

Thanks for the welcome. I've checked out a couple of the trucks here, and saw a couple things I liked. It might be a little while before anything too interesting happens with the truck though.

I am going to start with easy stuff like debadging it. Not a fan of chrome. Anyone know where I can find a blacked out Tacoma badge for the tailgate? And speaking of chrome, the grille is going to have to go away. The black grille on your truck, neslerrah is great. Where did you get it? The camper shell is going to get sold too, maybe to be replaced by a toneau cover.

There's a reason Tacomas are a dime a dozen, BUT I completely understand about making yours a little different. By the way, the lights should be automatic. When on, the lights should turn off once your door is opened and not when the truck turns off.

The lights do turn off when the door is opened. By automatic, I meant that there is a photosensor that will automatically turn the lights on and off. If I leave the headlights on after I turn the truck off, and get out, sure the lights go off, but I bet that is more a battery saving feature than anything. When I get back in, and start the truck up, the lights are still on, even if it is broad daylight.

Like I said, not a big deal, just surprising. :cookiemonster:
