1st Tacoma

hey guys, just picked up a tacoma last week. a 2005 prerunner reg cab, 2wd, 2.7, 5 speed manual, in the "ugliest color" by a whopping 160 votes, desert sand mica! it's prefect for job site dust and not the same as the "me too" silver or white i see everywhere. i expect to hear the "old guy" car color jokes but i like the way it looks with black accents. plenty of those to come. 41k miles, one owner.

anyway, i've been a hands on car guy for the last 25+ years but mostly wrenched on my VW's from a 59 beetle to the extensively modified passat in my sig. i also had a 2001 limited tundra and then a 2006 special edition sr5 tundra that went back from lease last week. i'm digging the gas mileage now compared to the borla dual exhaust v8 that made a lead foot so fun on that tundra!

scaling WAY down now with the economy and bought this simple truck cash. the piece of mind of no payment is amazing. mods on the way soon to build this little work truck into a functional tool with "some" style that's ready for urban work.

Welcome to TW. Even though you were scaling down to save money. Eventually you will see several things on this site that will call out to you that you must do to your new taco and then the savings go right out the window.
