2004 temp and tach gauges

    New member. Sadly '89 SR5 4x4 finally let me down(at 298K);very recently replaced with '04 tacoma 4x2. Just noticed a couple of minor things:1)are the temp and tach gauges supposed to light up? (2)has good power, but seems to have loud exhaust type noise around 2000 rpm(but at no other time). Any thoughts are appreciated.:confused:
