Getting ready for cross USA road trip

I've been lurking for a few months. Wifey and I just bought our 2nd Taco, been several years since our first.

We got a used base model '06 4x4 V6. We're about to order a cap and build a sleep/storage platform in the back. Plan is to take month and drive from VT-to-CA, fly to Maui, fly back, drive back. A real cross-country trip, most people stop halfway in CA and miss out on Hawaii.

Anyway, will be looking for help as we trouble shoot this well-loved truck with almost 70k miles on it. And we'll post pics of the mods we do to get it ready for covert-live-in status (pop-top campers are not welcome a lot of the places we go, got to be stealthy with the camping mode).
