    Hello Taco world,

I've been a German car owner ever since I got my license. Now, I'm in the market for a new Tacoma. I'm having trouble figuring out what's a good deal from the dealers that I've visited thus far. I'll try and post more about that in the appropriate section.

I'm hoping to find all the info that I can here.

Wow, that was a REAL fast reply!

Cool, Well, I'm looking at the double cab 4x4 with TRD Off-Road and automatic. Not sure on the JBL audio option as I can't find it available anywhere. But the dealer that gave me the lowest price had it setup with tow package and TRD Off road for around $28,500 + usual dealer fees and taxes (including gas guzzler???)

Welcome and good luck on your purchase. If in case you don't already know, search about the difference betweeen the TRD offroad and sport packages.

    Diffrences being:

Off road = locking rear diff and off road suspension
Sport = Road tunned suspension and no locking diff, will have scoop though.

That's it right? Oh, and about $500 more for the sport, to have a scoop and no locking diff? Doesn't make sence to pay more to get less.

The sport has the rear mechanical LSD. But, basing on your posts, you're probably going to do a lot of offroading so you would probably want the open-diff on the road vs the LSD.

Locking rear is definitely the way to go if you are an off-road guy. LSD is good if you aren't an offroader, but you don't want to get stuck.
