Im new here. I have been on the TundraTalk site for a bit checking out what everyone has to say about the Tundra. I currently drive an 06 Silverado Z71 Crew Cab which I was proud to drive off the lot; was my first "new" truck. At about 10k the truck began to fall apart. Radiator leak, tranny leak, front differential replaced twice, steering shaft problems, rattle in front when I turn.......etc....several other small things. Spent hours at the dealer which is horrible, hours on the phone with Chevy and many miles driving a beater Cobalt while my truck was being fixed. So, Im looking for a new truck and it WILL BE a Toyota, no question about it. I love the look of the Tacoma and think it is one of the "toughest" looking trucks on the road. I "think" I need a full size but I came here in hopes of seeing what you guys are able to do with the Tacomas. I pull things from time to time which vary in weight. I will also purchase a boat or small camper in the next few years. I will be checking things out. Any advice is welcome. Everyone speaks highly of the Tacomas on the Tundra site...

Welcome to the site. Lot of people towing...just use the search feature up top and look for 'towing'. Also one of our members, maverick, wrote an awesome Tacoma towing guide.

welcome to our world(and your soon to be world)........TACOMAWORLD!!!

the tacoma will be guaranteed to fit the bill!!! if you are doing alot of hauling of various weights, the 4 banger is pretty good, but i think you'd be very happy with the 4.0 v6., but thats just just my opinion. these trucks are awesome!! forgot to mention,............they all look good too!

Welcome jtruck! The tacoma is a great truck. If you get the towing package they are rated to tow 6500 lbs and there are people on here pulling that much. Without towing you can expect 17-20 mpg. Good luck in your search for the perfect truck...

Yeah, I do know the V6 is awesome. My wife had a 4Runner with the 4.0 and I thought it was an awesome engine.

Welcome to TacomaWorld. I love my Tacoma. It is the best Truck I've ever owned, and I've owned alot. From an Avalanche and S-10 to Datsun, Nissans and a Mazda. By far the overall best. I don't tow in my Tacoma but I use it to drive to work and back (80 miles).

Welcome to TW!!! With the Tacoma you have a lot of pros, first, you got a lot of power with that v6 for towing stuff... the dcab fits comfortably 4-5 people very well.... if you need to put large stuff on the bed, get the long bed... there is a lot of possibilities and configurations, i bet a lot of people here can help you decide based on experience.... plus... its the best looking truck on the streets right now....

Tacomaman, if you ever have the chance to hunt whitetail in Illinois, do so. I live in the Southern part of the state and the deer hunting is great.
