Hey guys, I just joined TW. I have a '98 Tacoma SR5 4x4. I bought it with some mudding tires but I don't know what brand. The rims look like crap, it has a few dents and some scratches (complements if the tree branches the are on the trails). I had a overheating problem and had to change the thermostat, a hose, and finally, the radiator (which finally fixed the problem). I just bought an Injen Cold Air Intake and it brought my MPG down quite noticeably. I love offroading and I love my truck. I'm planning on installing a 3" lift, 32" ATs with some good looking and durable rims, a chip, and an exhaust. I plan on keeping this truck even when I can afford a new Tacoma TRD Off-Road. I will be more than happy to take advice on mods/upgrades. I would also appreciate any advice given. Pictures will come shortly.

How feasible is this: I want to install a TRD Off-Road package on my truck?

skip the chip...put the stock intake back on and sell the CAI

to effectively "install" a TRD package you will need to buy progressive front coilsprings, and a rear axle with an e-locker + all the wiring and switches

Why shouldni sell the CAI? the thing is awesome and I REALLY don't mind the MPG. How much does the whole package cost?

because the CAI is doing more harm than good

look up doing the deckplate mod to your stock intake

proven HP gains + better sound for like $20 MAX

by the whole package do you mean for TRD? its gonna be pricey if you buy the parts from a dealer, but for a 1st gen you probably cant walk into a dealership and just order the "package"

youre going to have to tell them which parts you want and its gonna cost you an arm and a leg
