Looking to make Mods to Tacoma

Well I am new to Tacoma World, thought I would check it out. Looks like the best place to get help and advice when looking to do mods to a beautiful truck such as the Tacoma. Right now I have a few things in mind, hoping I can get some guidance. One thing I would like to do is a solid axle swap, with a lift. Also wondering if front and rear lockers are posible. See I got a buddy with a 08 Rubicon, and he seems to think his jeep is the the best thing for off road and rock crawling. I would like to show him up in my truck. If anyone can give me some input or point me in the right direction that would be great. Happy to be a new member!

 

Welcome ^^^^ I must agree with the post above... I've seen a few straight axle swaps myself but for the $$$ a top notch lift & some other mods make much more fiscal sense (not to dis those that HAVE done it - the mod is killer!)

Thanks for the adviece on the long-travel front suspension system. I am not looking to spend a large amount of money, so maybe a better choice. What brand would you suggest I go with?

 

Since you are in CA, I would suggest Engage Offroad (No 4x4 yet). Other brands to think about - All Pro: for 4x4, Total Chaos, Camburg.
