Greetings all. Just leased my 07 Double Cab, SR5, V6 Prerunner SB,
Silver Streak Mica Taco this weekend. I pick it up tomorrow since it was just getting unloaded from the transport.

Owned sports cars most of my life and I am coming from a 04 Mazda RX8 Sport 6spd. Now we have a baby on the way and we moved 10hrs from family so I thought the Taco would suit me well:) Have to say it drove nice, but the brakes are going to take some time to get used too. The truck I test drove had some serious mushiness to the pedal. From the forums, it seems normal. Other than that, I loved it, the wife loved it, and I am sure the dogs will like it.

Looking forward to getting to know my new Toy!

Wont be much to rate! Its a twin to Corey's avatar. Only extras I got were the towing package and the 16" alloys. I looked at one that had the XSP package but decided not to go for it. I plan on adding a bed cover next so need to read up on those. I just want a soft roll up style.

I just had a shock. My insurance on the Taco is 14% higher than either the 2006 Toyota V6 Highlander or 12% higher than my RX8! Overall its really not that much, especially spread out over the year but still. I wasnt expecting a 4dr pickup to cost that much more than my RX8 sports car.

I am getting used to driving it more. Still feels like I am sitting 6ft off the ground, but it really does drive nice. I thought it would take me a while to get used to parking it and stuff. Its not bad at all. It has plenty of power and I am getting used to the soft brake pedal. It stops just fine, its just mushy.

We are taking it on a 4 hr road trip down to the beach this weekend so I can see how the mileage works out and how it feels for the long haul trips. A little worried about breaking it in (it only has 140 miles on it!) but we really want to take it for the trip. I should definitely have more of a feel for it afterwards!

Not stealing the thread.....but just curious what are the "norms" for full coverage? Understand the deductable is different for all, as well as the company you use......but what are they charging?

For me its fairly cheap (I think). 35yrs old, married, no tickets or accidents (knock on wood - I used to get tickets waaaaaay too much:p ) we also have our home owners through them and my credit is solid (which they check now - what that has to do with car insurance is beyond me...).

Company is Travlers Insurance through their Hartford division.

$730/year with $500 deduct - $500K Comp and Liab, full GAP coverage for the lease, $350K uninsured coverage, towing and rental reinbursement. I think thats everything.

Not all that long ago I was paying close to $2500 a year or more
