I might be moving to Anchorage in a few months, and I was thinking about buying a small truck to drive up there and use. I don't want to spend over $7000. All I need it for is getting around in the winter, and moving some small stuff.

What should I look out for when buying a Tacoma? Any common problems ect.

What can I expect for $6000-$7000?

Can I get around with just a 2wd and studded tires in the winter up there?

Has anyone driven the ALCAN highway through Cananda to Alaska? If so, how was it?

Any input would help a lot.

    Thanks

Welcome to the group. $7,000 for a truck? Probably a mid 90's for the year group. I suggest you go online and do some searching for a vehicle in your price range. Never done that route you mentioned, so I can't help you with that.
