Greetings! I am a so cal native living in menifee. Just traded in my 07 FJ for an 09 Tacoma DC 4x4 TRD today! I loved my FJ and did some great wheeling with it, but between my FJ and my chevy 2500hd I was dying from the gas bills. My FJ had a 3" OME lift with all pro rear coils, outdoor logics front bumper with the 3 hoops and a few other small accessories. So I traded her in along with the chevy, for a all-around vehicle for light wheeling and hauling sh!t. I am looking forward to get back into the modding shortly!

    The better coast
The Tacoma can be a gas hog to, but as long as you drive responsible and take account for the added weight of some mods, it should treat you well

    And welcome

Everyone here complains about the 4.0 fuel econ, but I think I get pretty good economy considering I have a lift. The other day I averaged 24mpg putting down the road doing about 50 (speed limit) Just be conscious of your speed and you will be fine.

    I've gotten 23.5MPS on a 400 mile tank (100 miles off road in 4Lo) with 33.3" tires.

You definitely learn how to have control with the gas pedal when driving an FJ since it is about as aerodynamic as a cinder block... But once you realize you won't haul ass everywhere, the mpg wasn't too terrible

My xb stock was like that, brick through the air, but with all my mods I got it from 29 - 36 highway mpg....:D
