Is it just abandoned space? What's the draw of going there vs. Rausch Creek?

    Yep.
abandoned, state land; no rules. mostly wide open, few technical areas but plenty of places and trails to challenge, destroy or roll your rig if you desire. I had fun... and it's something new.

Raush is what it is; a dedicated off-road park.

I'm down for either! Like I said, having been to neither, I want to go as much and to as many places as I can!

Shamockin had some hills, some mud, some rocks, at least one boulder field, and that was just what we found in a few hours.

It's not a secret and it's not illegal to drive there.... Their were a million little rat pack groups running around on ATVs and dirt bikes... They draw more attention then street legal muffled trucks and people driving responsibly on land that had a sign saying "End Maintenance: Enter At Your Own Risk."

Oh I don't know. I use to ride up there when I was younger. I am about an hour an a half away from coal mine region. I can't remember which place is which really, it all kind of blends together.
