VPres Biden says all you need for HD is 2 rounds?

If the primary purpose is skeet/trap, go O/U. If the primary purpose is HD, go pump.

    If they equal, go semi.

if you go 12 gauge get the remington 887 tactical, i only payed 400 something for mine and its got everything you need plus you saw how well it shoots clays.

a no frills 500? what frills does the 500 have? you cant get much more basic then the 500. id go Remington 870 IMHO
biden needs to pdx12 rounds fired off in his ass.

My main thing for HD is a shorter barrel, a 26"-28" barrel seems rather unwieldy for inside the home. That's why I'm thinking something I could interchange barrels would be nice. But maybe I just need to pick a primary use and start there and make it work for the other until I want to get a second.

The Mossberg SA-20 bantam has a 24" barrel. Shorter, not much, but maybe a fair compromise. Also has 1" shorter length of pull. That could be a win/loss point though for comfort when shooting

Since I'm not a shotgun guy...

Do you guys think a 18" bbl with a full choke would perform similarly than that of a 25" bbl with a mid choke (or whatever the terms are.)

Even with smooth bores? Does the extra length help that much when the shot is only ~40yds?

I can swing my 887 accurately and quickly through every room in the house. Next meet look it over and try it out. If you like it you can buy one here.

What length is your barrel? Online it shows the tactical only with an 18.5". And how was it after shooting skeet all last meet? Not to tiring/sore with that supercell?

Oh, and did you say late summer meet? :spy:

Ok, tough guy, but why? Seems like there's more options, but what are the other advantages (besides more power).

Ask the guys in the Revolutionary War that one...

    Don't see the point

Since the shells are bigger I'd assume you'd get more shot per shot lol. There are more options as far as the gun choices out there with the 12 gauge but you can always change a stock/accessories and have the same basic thing. Plus the ammo is cheaper for a 20.

Personally, when I get mine, it will be 20 gauge. Mostly all I'll do with it is shoot skeet, and I wouldn't be scared if it came down to it to defend my home with it.

    This is all my $.02.

thank you, cant go wrong with the price. i love my o/u but its only use is strictly for clays
yes it is an 18.5 but they make a longer version called turkey tactical. it doesnt bruise my arm like my O/U does and i can shove 3 1/2 turkey load in it and give it to unsuspecting shooters :D
here is a little info for you bud.
