so I'm still pretty new to the site but I just discovered this part of the forum and I'm surprised by the lack of vermont threads. Basically anything VT Taco related. ESPECIALLY any meet ups.

Drove from Albany NY to Stratton Yesterday. North on US 7 to 30.

Wanted to come back via Mountain
Rd, to West Wardsboror, Acrross Stratton Arlinton rd to Either Kelley Stand or Forest Rd 71.

Both were closed. Had to go out to 100, and back on 9.

Yes many areas of the Green Mtn. National Forest were hit hard by Irene.
The GMNF website constantly updates each Forest Area section. I think there was close to 250 roads possibly more closed due to the Hurricane, some reopened in less than 18 days (RT 4 through Mendon) a major E-W thrufare to I89. They originally though 18 weeks to reopen that section.

We work alot of trails for our snowmobiling club in the GMNF. Many of the forest roads are recreational use trails and its taken quite a combined effort just to evaluate the damage. Mixed ownership (Towns vs Feds) also makes a difference.

    List of closures attached.

As far as the OP, the Vermontster just took place out of Bradford. As far as an official meet, I have never seen one here yet. Been a member of TW since 07.

yeah I havent seen anything really going on in VT other than the vermonster. I know a few people that set up mud runs in in the islands but no trail rides. looking for some places to go. Might try to set one up in Jericho on my uncle's land for the spring but there are several houses by the part of his land where the best trails are. I'll try to keep everyone updated if anything in the mean time comes up. Might try to organize some sort of event for the islands so our Plattsburg area taco owners could join.

ok I am bumping the Vermont threads

NEVER USE TIRE WAREHOUSE IN VERMONT ESPECIALLY ON SHELBURNE RD IN S BURLINGTON.
THEY ARE CROOKS & DO NOT HAVE HONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES.
    THAT IS ALL.

Im up at Killington 2-3 times per month once the mountains have a decent number of trails open. I would do some wheeling up there any weekend if I knew where or who to go with.
