Good morning y'all so I'm in a debate. I'm headed to Hagerstown today so I decided to setup an appointment to get the oil changed in the truck since they'll do it for free for the life of my truck. I'm debating on looking to see what I can get out if my Tacoma for a new tundra. Any input on this?

Do you need a Tundra would be my first question? A needs vs want thing.

If you need a full size PU then I would say try to do your best negotiations with the sales team. If you are looking for ballpark pricing I would not push the sales guy too hard. If you are serious but not going to buy today then get the sales guys card. If you are going to buy today then push hard and talk to the sales guys boss.

I would also advise doing research on the truck before purchase, concerning pricing and what the dealer currently has on their lot.

Hopefully Steve will chime in here.

2014 redesigned tundra? Call me when the redesign the milage. Enough said.

In reality, you have to ask yourself, do i really need that much more space? The gas milage will be about the same anyway. Its just a matter of having to buy bigger everything and having more space for people or stuff. I wouldn't want to move into a bigger truck because i don't need the room and i would have to put all my standard accessories on it...ex. Weathertech stuff.
The only days i wish i had a full size are when the four wheeler doesn't fit in the bed. And at that point it goes on a trailer.

The want an need thing hits a thin line cause I do tow a boat an waverunner in the summer and it works my truck hard being so hilly around here. I just would be looking at this point been tossing this idea back an forth for a few months but nothing solid just looking to see what I can get for my truck an what kinda deal I can get on a new one. I have nothing against my Tacoma I love is just would kinda like a little bit more power.

Resale sold me more than anything. How many vehicles can you use for 8-10 years and still get about half of what you paid for them back out for resale....that is crazy.
Reliability is nice to...but the day will come for every vehicle when it decides not to start...it just happens.

I just remembered, I need to see the dealership to order some spark plugs soon.

Sounds reasonable, plus there is a safety issue with towing as well. I would just get ballpark pricing today. After a little more thinking you best bet to purchase will be the week between Christmas and New Year.

And if you aren't set on having a 2014, they'll slash the prices on the 2013s after the first of the year.

They don't have any 13's left on the lot I don't think. Also what I pull is a little over and around 4000 pounds but being in the mountains it sucks especially coming from a half ton silverado with a 5.3 in it. But power wise I don't miss it unless I'm towing. I guess my biggest problem is this take of shutter drives me nuts I had it slightly from day one. My trucks a 2011 with 35k on it I owe right around 8k in it so it just seams like a good time if I think about trading up

Call me when you have some time to talk Joe. I can either give you help with the tundra or talk you from the ledge. The tundra to me is a full size tacoma. I love them but have no need for one other then the fact it's a bad ass truck.

You'll probably remain happy either way you go. And younger is pretty strict on not having any "birthday" vehicles on their lot....they sell stuff pretty quick. Good luck with sale, or no sale...

Check their price against koons in Westminster. They are easy to deal with and had my Tacoma priced online less than what younger wanted.

I wouldn't shop at koons because i don't like the woman in their advertisements....her voice and smile annoys me.

You could always thell them that somewhere else will give you the truck you want for less and they will pretty much always come down to at least meet it. Keep in mind, they don't have to make out like bandits on every vehicle that rolls across their lot.
