Look for a 4x4 Crew Cab
I am thinking on buying a Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Crew cab, between the years of 2005 - 2011, and was wondering if you could give me some advice on the Best 4x4 Toyota Tacoma Differentials for off roading and driving in 2 to 3 feet of snow, and possibly driving on the beaches in Florida. I Travel up and down the east coast, and can experience just about anything, and I want to make sure I get one with 4 wheel drive, so that I can tow a few small things with it and be able to handle any weather, mother nature can throw at me without me having to walk unless I am just to stupid to drive into the great swamp in NJ.

If you can provide me with any advice I would greatly appreciate it, but I need all the wheels to be able to get me through the terrain I am generally in. I don't abuse these vehicles, but I do need a good off road truck so that I can take people to remote research areas. If you want me to call you to speak with I can call you anywhere you are, just let me know the number and time. I promise it will only take about 15 to 20 minutes to get the information I need to make sure I buy the right Tacoma 4x4.

The offroad is the most capable stock truck since it has rear diff lock the baja gives you slightly higher ground clearance but you'd be able to buy an offroad and lift it cheaper and have it the way you want it just my 2cents

Get a sport and jack that bitch up. That's what I did and I keep up with the offroads all day long. I have gone places with the sport that many offroads wouldn't dare. Mwahhaha!!

If buying a sport, save your damn money and buy a base ;) its the same thing with less frills and some chrome instead of all that painted stuff. :D

Just my 2cents worth if you plan on doing any heavy modding to your truck go with the SR5. You'll be able to get better aftermarket items then paying for the sport. For example If you plan on changing out the bumpers why pay for them to be painted, new rims and tires why pay for stock rims and tires, boring bed side decals get a custom one from one of the guys on here, fog lights are easier to set up on a V6 SR5 as the wiring is still there but you can pick up OEM fogs from any member changing out the front bumper I got mine from a member in TX for less then $75 STAY AWAY FROM THE EBAY ONES THEY DIDNT LAST ONE TRIP TO NJ AND WERE $55. As for the off roads locker ARB makes better ones. However if you just want something off the production line that is almost complete go with the Sport and lift it you can still choose between automatic and manual for those years. My personal choice is manual. Once I lifted my SR5 and remembered that it's a truck not a boat I haven't been stuck since lol thanks Steve.

I agree if you plan on doing heavy modding then I would just get an sr5 but if you want something out of the box ready I would get an off road. I would rather have the rear locker just incase then have the have the color keyed stuff and hood scoop. But that is just me.

I was thinking it was probably better to get the ARB lockers on the sport. If you REALLLLLLLY want lockers
