Cost on Amazon is $11.49 a qt. One of the best attributes of Redline is the higher flash point, the temp where the oil breaks down and is no longer protecting the metal surfaces.

I am a happy redline user. I replace the oil every 5 to 6K with no issues and there should not be any issues with that change interval.

I want to see how many people are willing to go to big dogs off road park on this date. Its in the works with the owner and I need at least 30 people to come. Cost to enter is $60 due to insurance reasons. Camping is available and many beginner trails to advanced trails. Did I mention camping is free. Also, wanting to help out a SPCA charity with the entrance fee.<br />

you're correct. just went back in my purchase history
    10w40 is 11.49
75w90 for the transfer case is 15.49
heavy shock proof for the diffs is 16.95

I am sure the engine would be fine with 6k oil changes, but with 35s, a lot of off road miles/month, and a decent amount of towing, I figure more frequent change is nothing to sweat a few bucks over.

I too am a happy redline user :)

That's an awesome park, may go as far to say that it's may favorite park to wheel at. anyone who gets the chance should go! 30+ trucks is a good sized group, but it's still a lot better than when they have their big dogs events.

Yeah, now I want redline oil in at least rear diff. If it sits for a while in front diff and t case, does that matter? They don't get used as much as they should

I switch to 4H several times a month. I switch to 4L once every few months. When you are coming down your street, just hit it on and go a little bit then hit it back off. Just do that a few times a month. I've never had an issue. *knockonwood*

I tried to have my regular wrench do a trans flush on my '10 and he wasn't able to do it. He checked with another shop that he interfaces with and that guy wasn't able to do it either. He checked with the local dealer and you pretty much have to have them do it. Consequently, I ended up have the dealer do it, cost me $250 out the door. If you do a search there is a DIY thread.

Toyota actually makes very nice consumables. Oil, Filters, etc. I look to the guys that race their trucks and use what they use. it's pretty unanimous across the board, only to use toyota trans fluid in these trucks.

even if they aren't getting used, the way these trucks are set up, the ADD actuator is the onlyt thing that doesn't move if you never switch into 4wd. the diff itself is still spinning.

yeah, anyone wanting a 3rd party shop to do it, or wants to do it themselves needs to read the how-to. it's fairly involved. you have to jump pins in the obd2 to put the transmission into a check mode that opens up an overflow valve inside. if you don't do that, it won't drain extra fluid, and you can have a severly overfilled transmission. for most people, it's probably worth it to just take it to the dealership.
