Nice.. What brand did you go with?

I know Matt saw it on live, but I made a fire extinguisher bed rail mount for less than $12 today. Nothing overly special, but it's pretty stout and only took about 20 minutes lol all SS and aluminum too so it won't rust.

So i had something interesting show up today. I was just given an envelope from Toyota regarding the DTRL lens melting, even though my truck is an 07. In it it says that the lenses now have a warranty on them until November 2015, or, that Toyota would reimburse me if i already replaced them myself.

    1. I didn't even know Toyota had my address, as i bought the truck from a small import dealer, not a Toyota dealership.

    2. i thought the recall only affected the 09 and newer trucks, not my 07?

    Thoughts?

Eh, no point really. for the age of the truck and the abuse ive put on it, there is nothing major wrong to name at the moment. only thing wrong is a mild growl/hum at speed from the front left, i suspect a wheel bearing, even though the tire dosent have any play, wheel bearings are cheap enough to replace

Thanks! I've been planning on putting it together for a few weeks but finally had the time to swing by the store and get everything lol it's just a piece of aluminum sheet that I cut and bent.. It's held to the bed rail with 2 3/8" bolts and the plastic extinguisher holder is held onto the plate with two 1/4" bolts. Probably a little overkill for a 3# extinguisher but oh well. All the bolts are stainless so nothing will rust either which is nice.

I thought about the 4x innovations mounts but I'm cheap and didn't want to pay for them. Lol they also probably wouldn't have fit under my tonneau rails.

I had the thing velcro'ed to the top I the wheel well in the bed but it wasn't very stable

They're fine. Some dust in them somehow, gonna blow out with an air compressor or something. I'm putting 303 protectant on all my light lenses to hopefully protect from UV.

Dust inside means that's there's some damaged/missing sealant or a gasket somewhere most likely..
