As long as we're in the spirit of answering questions :D

I was looking at getting a winch on the front of my '12 Tacoma... I was wondering, WHAT IS THE ACTUAL LOAD HANDLING WEIGHT that the front end could handle? Like I see winches rated for 12,000 lbs but I don't know if any front mount would hold that much without ripping off of the frame, Mind you I know 12,000 lbs is way more then our trucks should need, but in the spirit of being nice I'm thinking of when other larger trucks may be stuck in a group off roading trip.

So where would I find how much a winch mount could actually handle so I don't spend needless money on a winch that can pull 5000lbs more then the mount can hold?

P.S. I was thinking about one of the hidden front mounts like this:winch2_825c88dedc6fe2c0fd1c0ca869beac5a7440712f.jpgwinch4_6a14baa0c549c91b42ffe9d11eeabfe2589f0297.jpgwinch9_63d5364191c81fddcfd1774b578ceaa6dcea4cf6.jpg

YES I KNOW THATS NOT A 2012, Its simply for comparison. Thanks in Advance.

4. Q. What do I need to know about four wheel drive recreation on the beach?
A. An over-sand vehicle annual permit ($70-$150) and certain required safety equipment such as a shovel, board, tow rope, and other gear is needed. A portion of the southern tip of Assateague is "off limits" during some months due to the fragile piping plover nesting grounds.

you will need to one pay to get in the park. I would just pay the money for the card which gets you access to the park all year. Second you will need to stop at the ranger station and pay for the permit. They have a few options that you can get. Take a look at this link. you will also need the required tools just incase they ask. I have my permit and it was a blast.

The island is really nice when I go down to OC I usually avoid the beach at OC and just go to the island, then to the boardwalk for food and shops. I've never gone off road there but plan to.

One thing to note they only let a set number of trucks on the beach. So once they hit that number u have to wait until someone comes off. I had to wait with a friend for hours For this reason I went with de surf permit. I just drive up to fenwick.
