I did the run dry method and hadn't had issues so far, but this year I put the snowblower away with a full tank and Startron, and drained the carb. Fired right up for me this year.

When I worked at a dealer there were guys doing this but they usually got run out. Warranty work time was ridiculous so we would add work codes to the job. When you figured a way to make job quicker or bought tools to make it quicker they would cut the time. When we were doing heater cores it started out at 10 hours cause dash had to come out then vw made it a recall and the more we did the quicker we got plus buying tools to make it easier. So when it was all said and done the recall time was 2 hours.

I top my bike and lawn mower off for the winter and mix some stabilizer in the gas - let it run for about ten minutes to ensure a good mix as well as making sure the whole system is full of the fresh gas.

The first of every month is start up time, head out to the shed and turn the bike on and let it run for about 15 minutes. A few throttle twists to blow out the cob-webs and shut her down for another thirty days. Never had any issue and it keeps anything from stagnating.

Riding a bike at 65 in 26 degree weather: fucking sucks!

My chin and neck are so cold and wind-burnt. I don't WANT to ride it now, but I'm meeting the Maxima guy after class.

Worst part is gripping the tank with my legs. Nooooo ambient heat off that damn water cooled engine.

I'm getting there... If it's the carrier again, I won't get another Dorman whether it's warrantied or not. I'm not 100% sure that's the problem, doesn't sound like it's directly under my like it did the first time but I also wasn't opening my windows and hanging my head out on my way in since it was 24 degrees outside!

People I work with are still riding their bikes in. They have their bikes wired with electrical outputs and they have heated gear that plugs into the bike. How sweet is that??

On a good note, one of my headlights fogged after going through an auto wash (first time it's ever leaked) but I was able to dry it up by pulling off the rubber bulb boot and driving without it for a few days. Things almost 100% dried up!

Ya I could get a one piece shaft but I don't for see having this truck much longer . Once I move I'll be picking up a commuter car for cheap and trade this shitbox in on a full size .

I think the one piece drive shafts can still have vibrations at highway speed

They can, they seem to be hit or miss based on the reviews people have written up. Maybe one piece with a double cardin at the x-fer case side and probably some shims at the rear :notsure:

I'm in the same boat as John but not for the same reason. I'm not dumping $500 into a one piece, I'll bite the bullet and go back to an OEM carrier first.
