I was just reading over an article on the NE/Denver game this weekend, with highlight gifs. I still can't get over that one-handed catch that Gronk made.
Edelman's runback was impressive, but Gronk's grab was amazing.

Not something I'd want to find myself staring down, to be honest.
    Basic 3-dot sights.
This is the only sign of wear I can find on it, where the barrel rides in the bushing.
And this is the only mar in the finish that I've found-
    [IMG]

Not bad for a used gun!
It's interesting; I can see a lot of similarities in the design of my S&W 5906, with some subtle differences like the safety design and the fact that the S&W is DA/SA vs the 1911's SA only. You can definitely see where the S&W engineers started by studying what they liked about Browning's original design and changed/modernized what they didn't.

Of course, there's some considerably less subtle differences between my 5906 and the SR1911...

That's exactly what I thought when I popped one out of the box.
.357 rounds are longer, but that .45 looks mean in totally different kind of way.
The 357's reminds me of a saboted tank round. The 45's a big round cannonball.

Nice! The 4516 is the compact version, right? I absolutely love my 5906. A 4506 is on my list of 'gets' at some point, but whenever they show up in the local gun shops they're priced pretty steep. My favorite part about the 5906 is the DA/SA trigger. The DA pull is low effort and smooth, but the SA is about as perfect as you can get, especially with that super fast reset. Shooting that gun is a real pleasure and it's the one that I usually take to the range with me. I carry it occasionally during the winter, when I can hide it under a jacket.

I haven't had a chance to shoot the 1911 yet; I picked it up on Sunday in the middle of a snow storm. Monday I hunted all day, and since it's dark at 4:30 now I can't go when I get out of work (and I don't belong to an indoor range). I'm planning on taking it out and running it through its paces this coming Sunday.

    :woot:

Yup it is their compact. I think the 1 in the 4516 signifies compact. I totally agree with your assessment of the da/sa trigger

Have you got the rounded handgrips on your 4516, or the straight ones? My 5906 came with the rounded version and I didn't like how it fit my hand. I ordered the straight grips and now it fits perfectly.

Honestly, about the only thing I don't like about the gun is the magazine disconnect.

Show off. I have small hands with short fingers, so I needed as thin of a grip as I could get so that I could still manipulate the controls properly.
