Our 4.0l is way better than the Eco boost.

No offense man but if you're so unhappy with your mediocre V6 then you bought the wrong truck... You did test drive before you bought it right?

There are ways to get more power out of the Tacoma, headers, intake, engine controllers, pulleys, intake spacers and blowers. You're right, it'd be fun to drop a ridiculous engine in a small truck and tear shit up with it but I don't lose any sleep over the power output of my current engine.

Not unhappy with it, but it's not the best motor anyone ever made. And leaves much to be desired. Dual VVT-I and direct injection would be nice. Our engines are 11 years old this year... It's fine if you tow a little trailer and keep racing slicks on it for tires I guess...

I'll give you that one. I never quite understood why the Tacoma seems to get left behind when the 4Runner, FJ and Tundra all get the updated 4.0L V6 and the Tacoma gets stuck with the old engine.

Yea an mines 18 years old. I got it because I don't tow, wanted some MPG's and refused to own a vehicle with a timing belt

Idk... That 2jz makes better numbers stock than ours with a supercharger. And it's a smaller engine. Gas mileage is probably way better. The 2jz is voted like one of the top ten motors to have. If I was a car maker id be making the best engines available for everything. Not just the FJ, or the yaris... Ford has it right. They make an Eco boost for a lot of different models.

We don't have a timing belt either. And we can't buy your truck new. You can buy our trucks new... With 11year old engines.

Idk.. If Toyota was interested in making the best possible options available to us they would do it. They obviously don't see a big enough market for it, and aren't interested in taking any chances.

Ford says "everyone can have the best of the best that we offer :)" Toyota says "unless you buy the most expensive thing we make, fuck you"

I'm not a ford guy by any means, but I think Toyota can learn something from them. I mean honestly dude, the same shit for 11 years w/o an upgrade? Unless of course you buy a tundra, a wagon, or an FJ.
