Possibly relocating to Philly area- looking for some info

So I may very well be relocating for a job in the Philidelphia area. Anyone able to point me in the right direction as far as where to look for a place to live, what areas to avoid, etc.?

The job is at a Coke warehouse that is, according to google maps, on the north side of the city.

Any info would be great, TIA

 

How far are you willing to commute and what kinda area do you want to live in? In the city, suburbs, somewhere in between?

 

Remember this... Philly > Jersey... but not by much..

 

I'd prefer the suburbs, and probably need a house as I have 2 dogs. Id like to keep the commute to a hour or so if I can. Id be working afternoons or nights, so that may not be such a big issue, as I won't necessarily be commuting during rush hour

 

Buy my house. The area around me is nice. Google Spring City, PA and my house is 2 blocks southeast of the pin.
