Oh I know I get the shakes even when I know I can't shoot the deer or don't want to shoot it... But I shook so much Monday when I went out that I had to sit back down lol. This time I controlled it a bit better... Just mad at myself for not placing a good enough shot to get a good blood trail...

 

I hit one a couple years ago and didn't get it. Got lost in the middle of nowhere at 9 at night. Came out a mile from my truck. Eventually everyone has one that gets away.

 

Just didn't want it to be my first bow kill to get away

 

It's tough to deal with but it happens. Get back in the stand. You'll have another one come in. A week after the 8 got away I killed a 20 1/2" 10 when I was watching a really nice 9. Big one came out after the 9 ran off after a doe

 

Oh I had 3 doe come in while I was waiting to go track my deer down haha.

Does it strike anyone else as stupid that when you buy an swr meter, they don't tell you that you need an extra coax cable so you can splice it in?

 

It should have come with it...

 

In further reviewing Amazon.com, in the FAQ's for the one I bought, it says it doesn't come with wire. Guess I should've read it before buying. Wondering if another type of cable with the same ends (maybe audio / video cable) will work to tune it. Otherwise, I either have to order a piece of cable or run to the truck stop in Kearny for a piece. Seems that even Radio Shack stopped carrying that stuff.

On a good note, almost done with install. Ran out of light. Only left to do is connect power and ground, and tune. Will get some pics up tomorrow, but it is looking really clean.

 

I had to buy mine separately. If you need to borrow mine you are more than welcome.

 

I hate getting to my cb so much that I highly doubt I'll ever tune it

 

I just texted my dad to see if he has any still laying around. If not and you don't mind, I would like to.

I'm getting a handheld midland and calling it done. I'm tired of messing with them. I never get it right.

 

Thats really all thats needed... At most you need 2 miles if you get split up or anything like that... Hell even the "walkie talkies" are good enough

 

I had a decent swr from the beginning. Only had issues recently because my antenna got worn through and was grounding via my high lift/tool box. Resolved that and back to a decent swr. My first time out using it it was perfect.

Also if it burns out it would burn out in use.

It wouldn't just burn out tho it will smoke and can cause a fire.

Pretty sure Jeff had that happen to him.
