What's the game plan? Have some trails lined up? I think the wife might be going to Salamanca to pick up the older kids leaving me with the smaller 2. WP isn't too far from me. I would have a 7 and 8 yr old with me.

I know of 1 place just outside Marathon that can be challenging depending on if the road's been washed out or graded recently. And then there some trails/mowed paths on the state land at the end. Or used to be years ago anyway.

Well, apparently the wife's trip is next weekend. So that means no plans for tomorrow.

So food for thought for you fellow NY guys. I called Geico after Progressive raised my rates $53/month on my renewal this month, and they said no one can beat their rates in NY. Said they had such a large/strong customer base no one could offer as low a rate as they can.

Now, he could've been blowing smoke up my ass, but he just cut $140 off my monthly bill. I shit you not. It went from $1600 total for 6 months down to $730 for 6 months with Geico! That's $264/month to $122/month, $869.10 savings over 6 months, $1738.20 per year!!

Might be worth calling for a quote yourselves. Mind you, thats with the tacoma and pathfinder and half a dozens incidents on my license. Some are set to fall off in a couple months so it *should* go down even more. And I shaved an extra $10 ($740 to $730) by manually specifying the ignition lockout in the vehicle info section.

If you are paying 122.00 a month up here for full coverage on 2 vehicles, with that driving record, you are doing very well. I'll be calling them too. I have 2 Tacomas insured, no points ever on my license and 55 years old and married, just one driver. Plus they have my house insured and all my other stuff. It still costs me 100.00 a month for the trucks, which I figured was pretty decent till I saw this....time to shop around again.

:D And that's why I posted! Figure it might be worth some of you guys taking another look. And yes, I'm surprised as well. Progressive pissed me off with the $53/mo increase over something that happened in 2005 so I started looking around. E-surance wouldn't cover me. I wasn't heartbroken or surprised since they're owned by Progressive now. Geico was my second choice, and I nearly fell out of my office chair when the original quote came back at $115.90 per month!

It's $122/mo now because I added full glass/no deductible to the pathfinder, and upped personal injury and property damage each to the next level as suggested by the rep since we own our house. So better coverage and still $140/mo savings. Go figure!

    Edit:
Oh, I should add it's full on the Pathfinder, just comp on the Tacoma.

My wife and I go through MAPFRE who have been good to us with our Corolla, and I was really surprised that it only cost another 1k per year to fully insure the Tacoma I bought last month. My driving record has been excellent since 2005, though I just got my first moving violation since 2004 and I'm hoping I can fight it and win. It's a $150 ticket and 5 points just for looking down at my GPS at a stop light (i didnt' have my window mount with me)

I have a feeling you could do better. I probably have more points on my license, or at the very least have more incidents than you. It's costing my $451 for 6 months, or $902 for 12, to fully insure our Pathfinder. Wife has clean record. I put out deductibles at $1000 except for glass, but I also upped the Personal injury and property damage coverages.

Either way, it's free to get a quote from their site.

Also, WTF did they charge you with for the GPS?!? It was 5 points and you were stopped at the time?! I could understand using a phone and driving, but if you were stopped it should be fine.

I have seen a few tacomas around Clifton park that are lifted but never get a chance to ask the driver about them.

I see from your pic you have already lifted yours.
I am just looking to install 5100's to level and
get a little bigger tire......for now. Did you go that route or go for the
    lift all at once?

Did it all at once, I bought all the stuff new or lightly used off of TW. What do you eventually want? How much lift?

I was just thinking to level at first but seeing all these lifted trucks makes me think I
should lift. I would only go 3" and don't plan to do any off roading. I plan to
get hankook dnyapro atm's. I already put on level 8 guardian wheels. The
stock tires don't look so good. I had atm's on my silverado and they were good. So....I am not sure if leveling will be enough.

If you want a good ride go with the 5100's and a set of 885's. That would give you 2.5" and you want need UCA's. Get an AAL and if you don't want to buy rear 5100's get some shock extenders from autozone or something. So you're looking at about $350 for a lifted truck. What size are your guardians?

17x8.5. I think they were -6 off set. They pushed
tires out about 1/2 inch past fender and about two inches
total from stock. Still have the sport rims.
