Nys law makes it illegal to have a hitch in your receiver

I've done a search. I can find no statute of such a law. I would get with your trooper buddy, and have him give you the number of the statute. Otherwise, they cannot be ticketing people for having a hitch in their receiver. If I were to be stopped, I'd fight the ticket.

i used to always keep my drop hitch in on my old toyota.. saved my ass once when i got rearended at a stopsign by a lowrider s-10... the hitch speared through his grill and raditor and finally stopped his truck when the hitch hit the front of the motor block... no damage to my truck at all.. ohh and when i pulled away the ball hooked the grill and pulled it completly out!

 

And since we are now into a rant that is pretty much not related to the original post, which has been at least at face value proven false, we will be locking this up until there is a PM to a mod with some factual info about the "new law" in NYS.
