I just used the shit stock speaker surrounds as a mount.. Cut the old speaker out, trimmed the plastic slightly with a dremel.. Then RTV'd the OEM plastic ring to my Alpine 6 x 9s. Worked great.

Question about registering out of state vehicle in Oregon.... Is there a state "safety inspection" that I would have to go through? I'm curious if o mud flaps and a high clearance rear would present any issues. Will be living in the Hood River area.

Nope. Oregon doesn't care unless you are in Portland

Like I said, Oregon doesn't really care. Plus, no inspections on anything unless you live in the Portland area.

Not sure what you have against mdf unless you plan on submerging your door.
Jeverich's idea is good in a pinch (on my Honda I just used pressboard since I was a dumb college student, it worked). I just wanted to do it up right so I did the Marv stuff and added the RAAMmat as well.

I don't have measurements, I haven't been up on the audio stuff since 2008.

The mdf overtime will fail, maybe a long while from now but it will. That's my only issue. My truck gets bounced around bad it the fields and i dont want to risk them failing while bouncing around. I may be just over cautious, lol

Oregon has maybe one tornado every year or so. Oregon has maybe a week of 100 degree day every summer. We don't get hurricanes.
