If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Here ya go Mitch, I just sent this to Digiratus:

It was a fluke accident, I was skirting around the edge of the lake (since I didn't want to ford the big one again) and went to cross a small "puddle" to get back to the dry side. As soon as my truck went in, it was over. water over the hood, engine stalled, called Tallon the CB to get a line and tug me out. The puddle happened to be MUCH deeper than expected...do not cross this area: http://goo.gl/maps/y8u00

We pulled it on land, and after getting advice from the other guys, we started pulling the plugs/coils/air filter etc. to assess the damage. 4 of the plugs were wet, so I got in and turned it over to shoot the water out of the cylinders. It cranked a couple times and ejected a lot of water, then seized again. I got under and cranked the pulley by hand, and it stopped, cranked it the other way and it stopped...good sign the rod the broken or bent.

I put all the parts/components in ziplocs, and Tallon towed me out. As we were going down, we stopped to re-rig it, and noticed my skid was full of milky oil...F*CK!!! That's a good indication it cracked the block too, so no "easy" re-sleeve or rod replacement, time for a whole new block.

The interior got about 5"-6" of water in it, so I'm not sure what sensors/electronics could be potentially damaged, but I will take inventory when I gut it this afternoon. Hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.

Yes, sad panda....I am looking out the window at my decrepit Taco right now :itllbuffout:

also, lost another brake light and put a new dent in the rear bumper, but that was just laughable...

Thanks Gents! You guys are fucking great, truly appreciated and I will make it up to you ::pray:

James, the winch mount is still yours, though I thinking "Damn, I could use that extra cash right about now" :) We'll work it out bro

I just checked my invoice from DrivelinesNW. I paid $231.70 to get mine re-tubed after Evan's Creek. They did good work and had it done in 2 days.

Shitty to hear. I would be pissed but more scared of what the wife would say/do to me.

You thinking of replacing it with another 4.0 or maybe a small diesel swap??????

Ive looked and several different versions of winch bumpers on here and other forums, and theres some really nice stuff out there. What kills me is the shipping, and for those that are putting out some really nice bumpers the wait time is up to 6 months. So living here in the northwest (SE Washington) I tried to find what I wanted locally with little luck. I finally met this guy Gary and asked if he'd be willing to build a bumper for my 2010 Tacoma.

Gary is a military veteran that started his own business Red Goat Fabrication in Lowden Wa. He builds bumpers for a living . So far he's stuck with the big trucks, but I got him talked into building mine. My hope is I can help him out, and bring him some business. redgoatfab.com or Red Goat Fab on Facebook.

Ill update as the build progresses
Please take a look and help me support one of our veterans.

Just a straight swap...Moe was texting me to get small block v8, but I'm not sure how feasible that would be or how long it would take to convert. That would be pretty sweet though.

...and yes, I was more concerned about my g/f than the truck itself. Love is more important than possessions any day. Mike came over last night and helped mediate while we hashed out a plan/agreement to get my shit straight. All is well in the cosmos :)

I think they start around 900.00 but thats just a guess on my part. Give him a call. i know he just got back from a show, and has a few already built, and powder coated.

Soon as the snow shows we need to meet up for a little wheeling!

There is snow. I was out Friday in four foot deep drifts. Balloon tree road just past the spout springs ski area. It's like concrete now, but when it warms up you can break through pretty easy. Should get some light snow this week too.

Even 5 or 10 bucks helps out people. I know everyone would hope that they would get help if the situation was reversed.
