Anybody know of a good Mechanic in the portland area? I only need to replace both inner CV boots and rotate my tires. I would really prefer to do it myself (i've done it before) and save the money but I don't have a place to work on my truck.

Alternatively anyone have a garage or a place to work on it that I could use one weekend (it will only take a few hours)? I have all my own tools with me, I would just need a relatively dry place to work on it. I'd be more then happy to supply beer/food or some money for letting me use the space. Thanks.

They are supposed to be 33's. I've heard Treadwrights run a little big...I'll measure them tomorrow. I don't think my pinch weld has any room left to give. Hoping they aren't that much bigger.

and yes, my tires are shot. Definitely got every penny's worth out of this set.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
They might be 35 without a load. Maybe 34 with a load?

Bobert, you get D or E load range? Let me, or us, know how those tires work out for you.

You probably don't want a top heavy dropbracket for that... 3" would way better. Really for the dunes you want long travel...

I don't wheel in the dunes haha. Usually just do around 20-25 psi when crawling

Seriously best purchase in a long time..

Just replaced a front axle seal for the second time in a few weeks; I botched up the install on the first one by driving it in too deep, had a weep as a result. Also took a Scotchbrite pad to the seal surface on the CV to eliminate a ridge that had formed.

I hate working with gear oil. Especially after the plunger pump that I had been using exploded all over me and my shop. Multiple curses were yelled, and the entire bottle/pump was hurled out in to my driveway. Not good.

    Drill pump is freakin' sweet!

I recently acquired my 2010 Pyrite Micra DCSB and got right to work on often overlooked maintenance. The rig just ticked over 90K miles and I did the plugs, diffs (F+R) and transfer case this weekend.

For filling the cases with gear oil (Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90) in my example, I followed a trick learned from a technician that serviced my BMW M3. I simply punched a hole in the cap, inserted ~20" of clear tube, poked a hole on the top of the oil bottle and inserted the working end of my shop air nozzel into that hole. Hitting the trigger on the air provided an easy, no mess way of evacuating all of the gear oil from the bottle via pneumatic pressure.

Cost = ~ $0.15 worth of clear tubing laying around the garage.
