I notice that google image search puts up a picture of a tacoma over some of the most random searches I have done.

Hmmm, that could work. It would cramp it all up but eventually I will have a bumper.

Yeah, I just want it somewhat secured. I know I can't make it theft proof but I can make it a little difficult. I also don't want it to just bounce around in the bed.

Haha thanks for the heads up.

Damn TW making me spend more time on it again

Whats everybody's $.02 on TG sliders? I just called Scotty at Addicted Offroad and had him shoot me a price on their heavy duty sliders ($400) and install(about $200). The TG's are $280 but i've heard mixed things about their products.

TW has took over my studying time...again. Just PM'd a ton of people about fender trimming and they all have mixed views on the tools but I think I got this. One thing I find impressive is that no one did reliefs cuts like Monte. I don't have a steady hand so reliefs cuts are a must.

I think I am going to cut the front fenders before install on Friday now. That makes Thursday morning/night and Friday morning pretty busy.

That is kinda surprising nobody did relief cuts, i know if i were about to chop my fenders that would be the only way i go about it. It just seems like the much cleaner approach as opposed to just drawing a line and going for it. That nifty little tool Monte used seemed like it was meant for chopping fenders for 35's :D

I'm pumped to see how your truck turns out Gage.

Well, at first I was gonna go with a jigsaw but decided on an angle grinder or dremel. I will most likely make 1 inch cuts using all three tools to decide which one I feel more proficient with before cutting the full 2 inches.

    My plan is to...

    • Tape off the area
    • Use the fancy tool everyone makes to outline the 2in cut.
    • Make relief cuts roughly an inch apart right below the cut line.
    • Use a dremel to cut the fenders.
    • Put a flap disk on the angle grinder and sand up to the line to achieve a clean and smooth cut.
Same thing with the plastic fenders except I will use a jig saw for the cutting and then clean the cut up with a metal file followed by sand paper.

I am debating if I should go ahead and color match the fenders while they are off and being abused.

I am going to go ahead and actually document and do a write up for this. Well, unless I epically fail. For the amount of guys that have done this I am surprised how little they wrote on it. NYCO was the only one to really touch on the topic.

Some people have major balls I guess. I just know that if I end up with a crappy cut I will kick myself for it every time I see the truck. Like I do with my headlights haha. The gear group buy is almost at 10 buyers too :D. At least I am no longer sad that I sold the motorcycle.
