Pretty much as far as any road will go..other then MAYBE somewhere in Russia..

Where I'm at right now. End of the dalton hwy. far as you as a civilian can go by yourself. You can go all the way to the water with BP clearance.

 

Why are you required to have clearance? Private land?

 

They really suck man. They are expensive, They make your truck top heavy and can fuck with your MPGs. And watch your rear springs cause an RTT will help them to sag sooner or later. They also create the dilema of whetther or not to leave it on all the time. Oh, they do attract a loooootttt of unwanted attention so if you are an introvert, this might be a problem.


In spite of all that, I luv mine and would not give it up for anything.

Yep. BP controls prudoe. ConocoPhillips more of kuparaka. But there are like hundreds of high pressure oil lines(5-8000psi) plus 10s of thousands of wells. Safety procedures are citric kcal. You have to have 2 days of classes just to get North Slope Training. Plus every company has their own rules and shit. Think there is a tour bus that goes a bit out in the field and shows and old well..or so I've heard.

Some days hit 60-70

Others are 20-40 haha snowed the first two weeks I was here. Lol was just like wi ter in wy for me..haha was mad. Thought I wouldn't see any summer at all.

But I'm glad I'm here when it day light 24/7 instead if pitch black 24/7. That would blow for 8 weeks.

 

Thats such a cool area. They are doing so much shit up there its nuts, I want to get a job up there for a summer or a year. Kinda hard when the only company s BP and Conoco that hire from Tech, wouldnt want to work for BP to be honest tho lol. Im definately jealous of ya Monte.

 

Don't be. I don't go do any unit rig or truck driving work. Just shop work on our pad.

Their is some awesome engineering up here tho. Some cool stuff no doubt.

Getting hired as a summer hand like me isn't at hard. Then you can get your foot in the door. Wouldn't have to work for BP exactly. Could work for any of the contracted companies up here. What I'm at.

The slick line stuff is the real intense smart stuff

 

Lol hit all the bad in one shpeal there bud and yeah I am looking at a bachelor model. 120lbs is what they said they weigh so that isn't too bad. But the only time I am gonna have it mounted to my runner is when I am doing expo type runs or just going campin for a weekend o something.

I am going to be building a trailer to haul to say like Moab and such. Rather have a place I can put my camp gear and what nots so I don't have to carry them on the trails. Kinda gives me options then.

Will do and I am looking at this thing to be able to either mount on my 4Runner or on a trailer. I don't wanna even think about dishing out for a Jumping Jack so I am gonna build my own trailer.

Trailer would be great. Hope one day I can build one myself..but that's not for a long time. Need to the my truck more where I want it.

I only have some armor and a few minor things left on mine before it is where I want it. But a trailer ain't gonna happen until probably the end of next summer
