Fortunately I have the option to take the main Rd (Meridian Rd) or if I feel like putsing to work I go Linder or Ten Mile. Ryan says I can always take the Ram but I rather just learn in my truck.

    Hello Idaho peoples!

Enjoying this NorDaho snow! Was born and raised here until I was 10. Always loved the winters, so I try to make it back every year to have some snow time and ski.

If you two like BBQ I highly recommend Big Daddy's BBQ at Linder/Cherry (Fairview), it's locally owned by an awesome family and their food is great. The wings are AMAZING and the Bacon Mac N Cheese is an awesome side.
Their prime rib has been hit or miss but I still go back.

I agree! Snow driving is pretty much the best. Y'all have it good here; don't take it for granted!

We've got 17" coming to South East Idaho in the next 24 hours... We still have about 14" on the ground...

@Tacoma.Gal after having a Tacoma in the snow and now a ram 1500 with 5.7v8, I can honestly say I would rather have a Tacoma. The dodge is bigger and heavier, but doesn't necessarily have as much extra footprint for traction. When I kick it a little sideways, the dodge kicks out longer. Not sure about first gen, but second gen Tacoma has traction control, which can be useful if one is still getting the feel of it and trying to not go sideways.

To anybody else looking to add weight to their trucks, bags of sand are cute, but you pay more for less weight. Buy 80# bags of concrete for $5 each. If they get wet and harden up, who cares. They are there for weight. I do like that little frame sandwiching the wheel wells to keep the weight in place. I might have to make something like that for myself.

I've been looking for places to check out, thank you. I was just over by Clark Fork today; not too far from Johnson Creek by the look of it. Bernard overlook appears to be way down at the South end?

Yeah, I've pretty much just been picking random NF roads and seeing how far in I can go before I get stuck. Aired down the ST Maxx's to 10 lbs and they've been great. Snow got a bit too deep today... but I was looking for an excuse to use the winch anyways.

It's an 03 Crew Cab flatbed, we will probably be adding weight to the back of it too. Haha.

I agree with the cement bags, but I wanted something I could keep and use each year so I went with sand. I may or may not add more weight, I haven't had issues this far. My dad built the frame for me, he even slanted it to fit into the bed liner notches by the wheel wells. I typically leave it in all summer to keep my groceries from sliding around.

    Howdy,
Wondering what you all can tell me about Pocatello? I live in the Midwest and am itching to get closer to the rockies again. I have lived all over CO years ago but find it to be getting over populated. I am in the field of electronics development and worry about the lack of employment in a small town but I just found out the ON Semiconductor has operations there! The main reason I am looking at Pocatello is my lady friend will be starting graduate school for Physical Therapy and she could possible go to the school in town.
The location is very appealing as far as distance to the national parks and what not. I really like to backpack, offroad, snowshoe...
    Any tips, suggestions, warnings?

Rocktoy and I live here in Pocatello. Not a lot going on here but it's growing Lots of people moving here as far as the jobs go i wouldn't move here unless you nail that On Semiconductor job because that's about it for good paying electrical jobs around here. As for pocatello there are tons of places to go around here and explore camp and what not and if it's not enough for you then south east idaho is like a hub 8 hours in almost any direction and you have something way fun to do and that includes Vegas.

Guessing that it's probably a 1 ton, likely with dully and diesel. Diesels in the snow are not my first choice because they have so much torque that they make it too easy to break traction.
Why can't you reuse concrete for multiple years?
